National Training Center for BeMONC (in collaboration with the Department of Health and development partners)
The Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital is the DOH accredited BeMONC training center in Luzon. BeMONC skills training courses equip a team of doctors, nurses and midwives in the primary health care centers with skills for management of the woman during the antenatal, labor delivery and postpartum period as well as care of the newborn.
National Training Center for Family Planning
Supports the goals of the National Population Program of achieving the desired family size within the context of responsible parenthood.
National Referral Center for Trophoblastic Disease
In this program, indigent patients with H-mole or choriocarcinoma are reffered to this center. The management of these patients conforms with the treatment protocol promulgated by the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society and Gynecologic Oncologists of the Philippines. Low risk patients are treated with single agent chemotherapy which is given on an Out-patient basis while intermediate and high risk patients are treated with combination chemotherapy. Chemotherapy as well as the surgical management of patients are directly supervised by trained Medical Specialists in Trophoblastic Disease.
Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC)
A universally available and biologically sound method of care for all newborns, but in particular babies to promote skin to skin contact, exclusive breastfeeding and support to mother-infant dyad.
An alternative to incubator care for pre-term and low birth weight newborns who no longer need NICU support and need only to feed and grow.
Buhay Pamilya sa Fabella Program or Family Life Setting
Established by the section of Gynecology of the OB-Gyne Department, is located in Ward I of the hospital. It serves as hospice care to patients with GTT (Gestational Trophoblastic Tumor). The patients are not just given medical attention but also the spiritual and social support that they need in the midst of their struggle with their disease. The patients are given the chance to live a normal life just like in the homes in the company of their families.
Well’Come Teens Clinic
In this project, teenage mothers are treated on proper care of babies, motherhood and the like.
Dental Obturator Program (for babies with cleft lip and palate)
The Dental Department has the dental obturator program – babies are assessed and fitted with a dental obturator so that they are able to breastfeed before the definitive surgery.
Human Milk Bank
A service established for the purpose of collecting, screening, processing and distributing donated human milk to the specific medical needs of individuals for whom it is prescribed.
