The Dr Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital Professional Education and Training Office recently concluded the first of a series of capacity building activities on research. A seminar workshop on Data Visualization and EndNote Utilization was conducted on November 25, 2019 at the Fabella Training Center.
Resource Persons were Dr Emmanuel S Baja, Research Associate Professor of Environmental Health and Epidemiology and Mr Zypher Jude G Regencia, Research Associate, both of the Institute of Clinical Epidemiology, National Institute of Health, University of the Philippines Manila.
The seminar opened with a review of Observation and Study Design, i.e. choosing the right strategy to effectively address the research problem including collection, measurement and analysis of data. Medical Specialists, Medical Officers and Social Workers attended the workshop. They learned practical knowledge in DATA VISUALIZATION where Mr Regencia discussed how to use graphs and tables to facilitate understanding and understanding of complex data and relationships. Finally, Dr Baja introduced EndNote, a bibliographic management program designed to import, store and organize a researchers’ references. Participants were engaged as they followed the step by step procedure of EndNote utilization, working on their own research papers.
